There are three different textures from three different techniques for artisanal textile creation: Hand knotted pile (which is how most fine rugs are made), Sumac weaving (which is the beige knitted background), and Flat weaving (which is the ubiquitous tight hand woven technique). It is brown, beige, red, and blue and really interesting to touch. It is hand woven making it high quality and resilient, a very impressive piece.
