Description: This rug is a Kashan, woven with a lush wool pile on a cotton warp and weft. Around an ornate, angular oval medallion is a field of navy overflowing with intricate details. This qualifies as an all-over design due to the absence of true negative space. The density of flora and foliage elements is consistent through the field, into the corner spandrels, and to the borders which gives the rug a balanced look and prevents the rug from looking busy even with all the embellishments. The rug is predominantly navy and red with details of light blue, ivory, gold, pink, and a little bit of greens. It has a long fringe on one side and a short fringe on the other, as some Persian rugs do.
