Description: This rug is a Kashan, woven with a lush wool pile on a cotton warp and weft. Around an ornate, angular oval medallion is a field of red overflowing with intricate details. This qualifies as an all-over design due to the absence of true negative space. The density of flora and foliage elements is consistent through the field, into the corner spandrels, and to the borders which gives the rug a balanced look and prevents the rug from looking busy even with all the embellishments. The rug is predominantly cranberry red with a navy border and principal details in light blue, navy, and ivory. The rug has a short fringe and is in excellent condition with a nice luster.
