Description: This rug is over one hundred years old and features Seeds of Life within Seeds of Life motifs. This motif may resemble paisley but it predates that Indian-originated pattern and is called a Boteh. The Boteh often encloses a mature plant within it, symbolizing that the whole exists within the part, but this unique rug has Boteh with multiple Boteh inside, seeming to allude to the perpetuous cycle of life and growth. It is predominantly umber, brick red, with orange, black, blue, ivory, and cream colored details.
